Larris was just telling me that he had a nightmare when he was sleeping this afternoon.
And it got me thinking.. What causes nightmares?
I started to search Google for the answers and all.
Dreams came into the picture as well.
This topic could go on forever! I guess I found something to occupy my next 2 weeks or so eh? (:
Apparently, those people who experience frequent nightmares that seem unrelated to their waking lives, tend to be more creative, sensitive, trusting and emotional than average. Sometimes people get nightmares because of something that has happened in their lives, or because of stress. Interesting eh?
Oh, and not forgetting dreams.
Dreams seem to be a way for the subconscious mind to sort out and process all the input and problems that are encountered in waking life. Like if we were facing a problem in real life, by dreaming, it could actually help us to solve it! Cool, isn't it?
And it's scientifically proven that dreams can improve our emotional well-being, reduce stress, improve our creativity, and at the same time, dreams provide a playground for our minds while our bodies recovers and repairs itself.
Funny how there's so much left in this world to discover and to learn.
I got those information from Common Questions About Nightmares and Frequently Asked Questions About Dreams.
